We've moved!

By Lauren37 · May 6, 2009 · 3 Comments · 29 Views

I can't wait any longer - even though I still have some tweaking to do on my new blog, I want to keep writing to all of you while I do it! My new home, new blog, and new theme is now at inhertwoshoes.com! So, I won't be posting here anymore - read more about everything at In Her Two Shoes, and please keep following, reading, and subscribing there. I love interacting with all of you and I don't want our odd little blog relationship to end!

In Transition

By Lauren37 · April 21, 2009 · 0 Comments · 26 Views

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to shoot out a quick post that to preview some of the changes I plan on making in the next couple weeks. First of all, this site will be moving (I'll let you know where soon!). Secondly, laurenpiro.com is in the works! So that'll be up for you to check out soon too (or you can check out my snazzy "under construction" page right now).

Thirdly, I'm wrapping up this whole college thing - which as it seems, comes with quite the full calendar. I'll be filling you all in on that as it happens and I think many of you will be interested in staying with me (and my new space and my new web site) as my year progresses. I'm living the college to career in media lifestyle we're all trying to get advice on! So, use me (but leave comments).

How is everyone else's semester going?

Fleeting Beauty in Fairmount Park: Cherry Blossoms

By Lauren37 · April 7, 2009 · 3 Comments · 51 Views

For a class project I'm working on, I went up to Fairmount Park this afternoon to photograph the cherry blossoms. There are over 1,000 of these trees in the Philly park system, and for only about two weeks per year they grace the city with their pillows of pink and white. You can still make it this year - these are from near the Horticultural Center and the Please Touch Museum - but in case you won't, you can at least admire them right here.

Outside the Oreo 4.1.09

By Lauren37 · April 2, 2009 · 1 Comment · 56 Views

Only three Outside the Oreo's to go! Geeze, that certainly puts graduation in perspective, doesn't it? This week's (read it here) is a guide to traversing the Main Line on the R5. Yes, I literally drove to all of the stops between here and Philly to size up what students can do near each station. As suspected, it was a lot of neat restaurants and cute shops (but who doesn't love that?) I got this idea while brainstorming what transportation resources I wish were available - locations of fun things to do or places to eat and shop within walking distance of a train seemed like a no-brainer. Someone should create web site about that. Damn, I guess I just gave away my golden-ticket idea for the year.

Check out this cute house I found while lost looking for the train stop in Wynnewood. Wrap it up, please! Minus the trash cans.
